What it is
ShopClass is open-source classifieds software that operators install on hosting they control. It can be used for classifieds, job boards, property and car listings, business directories, services, events, rentals or product catalogues. Administrators can create category-specific forms from reusable fields without code. Search filters cover region, city, price, keyword and photos, with an RSS feed for each search. Moderation tools include a queue, visitor reports, login throttling, a keyword blocklist, and support for Turnstile or reCAPTCHA. Paid listings and credits are optional; a free Stripe plugin is listed for card payments through Stripe Checkout. Listing photos can stay on the operator's server or be stored in S3-compatible storage behind a CDN. Listings, users and photos are held in the operator's own database and storage and can be moved or exported without fees. ShopClass is free under GPLv3 with no per-listing fees. It requires PHP 8.0 or later and supports shared or cPanel hosting, as well as a Docker image and command-line interface. Events and rentals do not include booking, so visitors contact the listing owner.
