Selectel Desktop as a Service
What it is
Selectel Desktop as a Service provides remote computers as virtual desktops in Selectel’s VMware cloud, using Omnissa Horizon VDI. Users connect in a browser through Horizon HTML Access or with the Horizon Client. Six fixed configurations offer 2–8 vCPU, 4–32 GB RAM and 200 GB SSD, with GPU options on some configurations. Selectel lists remote work, company-server access, graphics workloads such as 3D modeling and CAD, and centralized data storage as use cases.
The desktops can connect over a private network to Selectel cloud servers, databases, VMware cloud data centers, Direct Connect and Global Connect. Selectel says customers can launch desktops through its control panel in as little as five minutes. Monthly prices range from 3,050 RUB a month for Configuration 1 to 20,500 RUB a month for Configuration 6. The listed price includes VDI, applicable GPU licenses, host monitoring, server and component replacement, software updates and security patches. Veeam backup and 1C licenses are optional purchases. The service supports up to 60 desktops per account; private-cloud VDI is suggested for larger or customized deployments.
