Roll20
What it is
Roll20 is a browser-based virtual tabletop for online tabletop roleplaying and board games. It supports D&D, Pathfinder, and more than 1,200 game systems, with built-in character sheets for over 250 systems and tools for creating custom sheets. The tabletop brings together voice and video, live chat, 3D dice, handouts, digital tokens, and effects. Game masters can use Dynamic Lighting and Fog of War, and maps made with Dungeon Scrawl can sync to a Roll20 game page. Macros can automate rolls, spell effects, and character actions; access to the API for extending Roll20 requires Pro. Roll20 works on Linux, macOS, Windows, and the web, and its VTT is fully supported in Chrome and Firefox. The free plan includes base game tools, 100MB of storage, and ads. Pro costs $8.33 a month, billed annually at $99.99; Elite costs $12.50 a month, billed annually at $149.99. Both paid plans include API access and Dynamic Lighting. Roll20 recommends 8GB RAM, a WebGL-capable GPU, and broadband internet.
