Record Union
Stockholm, Sweden
What it is
Record Union is a web service for independent music makers and labels to distribute releases from one dashboard. Artists upload audio, cover artwork, release metadata, and artist information, then submit the release for delivery. Plans send music to seven popular streaming and download services or to more than 20 global services, including Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Music, iTunes, TIDAL, Amazon Music, Pandora, and Deezer. Record Union says tracks can become available worldwide five days after submission. The service provides monthly sales reports, daily streaming data, release-date selection, a custom label name, an electronic press kit, Spotify for Artists access, and Linkfire Smart Links. Its Royalty Splits beta supports monthly collaborator splits and one-time payments with recoups. Paid upgrades include Rapid Delivery, Pitch Priority, Spotify Pre-Save, YouTube Content ID, and a royalty upgrade to 92.5%. Users retain copyright ownership and control of distribution and publishing. Annual plans range from $14 a year for 1–2 tracks on seven services to $29 a year for 6–12 tracks on all 20+ services. A free plan is listed, but no free trial.
