RandomUser
What it is
RandomUser is a free, open-source API that generates synthetic user data for application testing. Results can be returned in JSON, PrettyJSON, CSV, YAML or XML and can include names, location, email, login information, birth and registration details, phone, photos and nationality. Requests can filter by gender or nationality, set a seed, paginate results, and select which fields to include or exclude. Callers can configure password character sets and length; the default length is 8–64 characters. The API uses its latest version by default, and callers can request a specific version such as 1.4. Documentation shows browser calls using AJAX and includes a jQuery example. The free plan allows up to 5,000 generated users per request, and donations are optional. A free Photoshop extension is described for placing random users in PSDs, but it does not work with CC 2017 and has no update ETA. A Sketch extension is also described, though it is still being developed. The maker says the randomly generated photos were hand-picked from the authorized section of UI Faces.
