Photobooth-App
What it is
Photobooth-App is free, open-source software for building a DIY photo booth for weddings, birthdays, and other events. It can capture still photos, collages, animated GIFs, boomerangs, videos, and 3D wigglegrams; images can also be customized with frames and text, or have backgrounds removed or replaced with an AI algorithm. Camera options include Linux DSLR support through gphoto2, Raspberry Pi camera modules through picamera2, and USB webcams. Two cameras can operate at once, such as one for stills and another for live preview or video. QR codes can point guests to media hosted online or served by the app over a local network; online downloads require public access to the files. An rclone-based synchronizer can upload to supported storage providers, including FTP and Nextcloud. The app also has a live event gallery, configurable printing commands, WLED countdown signals, Raspberry Pi GPIO triggers, and a REST API for external capture and status requests. Printing uses custom commands, and the app receives no printer or job status. Setup guidance covers Linux and Windows; macOS and self-hosted use are also listed. The software is licensed under MIT.
