What it is
Patterning 3 is a circular drum machine for creating beats and exploring rhythms on iOS and macOS. It also supports Ableton Link, MIDI Clock, AU host sync, and MIDI input and output. Exports include stereo or multichannel audio, MIDI, and complete Ableton Live Sets. The maker describes a community library with more than 700 free user-created and artist-created drum kits. On Apple Silicon Macs, it runs standalone or as an AUv3 plugin.
