Path Network DDoS Protection
Path Network's blog author profile lists Phoenix, Arizona.
What it is
Path Network DDoS Protection is a cloud service for always-on mitigation across network and application attack layers. It combines DDoS filtering, DNS protection, and a web application firewall for gaming platforms and enterprise infrastructure. Path says XDP and eBPF filter threats at the kernel level, while adaptive filtering addresses UDP-based Layer 4 attacks and aims to preserve known legitimate traffic. Its DNS protection targets spoofing, amplification, and DNS attacks, and a configurable XDP DNS filter checks traffic against DNS standards. A stateful cloud firewall applies per-IP rules synchronized across the network before traffic reaches customer infrastructure. Customers can configure global firewall settings and application filters. Resellers and hosting companies can manage rules through an API connected to WHMCS or another portal. FastNetMon Advanced integration combines on-premise detection with cloud mitigation. Supported tunnels include GRE over IPv4, IPIP over IPv4, and IP6TNL over IPv6. Pricing is available on request.
For and against
For
- Always-on cloud mitigation
- Includes DNS protection and WAF
- Kernel-level XDP and eBPF filtering
- API integration for customer portals
- Managed incident response team
Against
- Pricing is available only on request
- Firewall rules cannot use port ranges
- BGP deployment has specific network requirements
The verdict
Path Network combines multiple protection layers with configurable firewall and application controls. The main setup consideration is creating separate firewall rules for every required port and protocol.
Who it suits
It is aimed at gaming platforms, enterprise infrastructure, resellers, and hosting companies needing managed cloud mitigation. BGP customers need the listed ASN, routable address, routing, and RPKI/ROA requirements.
