Ozobot Classroom
Newport Beach, California, United States
What it is
Ozobot Classroom is a web-based K–12 STEAM lesson portal for educators using Ozobot robots in schools. Its library includes about 700 standards-aligned lessons for grades K–12, spanning computer science, math, ELA, science, and social-emotional learning. Lessons use screen-free Color Codes or on-screen Ozobot Blockly. Pacing guides connect computer science foundations with other subjects and provide up to 30 lessons per grade. Educators can also create and share lessons, set up and manage devices, and update up to 18 bots at once with Boosted Bluetooth. Teachers open the service on Chromebook, Mac, or Windows 10 using Chrome or Edge; it is a web application and needs no download. Students can use Color Codes without a screen or OzoBlockly on a computer or tablet, including iPads and Android tablets. Teachers can share lesson links through Google Classroom or another LMS, though roster importing through the former Classes feature is no longer available. Ozobot says Classroom is FERPA- and COPPA-compliant, collects no student data, and does not support student accounts. Bit robots lack Bluetooth, so some features are unavailable with them.
For and against
For
- About 700 lessons span grades K–12 and several subjects.
- Supports screen-free Color Codes and Ozobot Blockly.
- Educators can create and share lessons.
- Free plan is listed as free.
Against
- Former Classes roster importing is no longer available.
- Some Classroom features are unavailable with Bit robots.
- Teachers need Chrome or Edge on supported computers.
The verdict
Ozobot Classroom combines a broad K–12 lesson library with coding activities and teacher tools. The free plan and no-download web access may suit schools, but Bit’s Bluetooth limitation and the discontinued roster-import feature are worth noting.
Who it suits
It suits K–12 educators using Ozobot robots who want lessons, coding activities, and device management in a teacher-facing portal. Students can participate with or without a screen, depending on the coding approach.
