OpenBooth
Austria
What it is
OpenBooth is free, open-source photobooth software for Linux, designed for touchscreen operation. It captures photos, applies image filters and shows a live preview of the filtered result. Wireless triggering is supported. Camera communication uses the gPhoto2 library and its Java bindings, while OpenCV handles image processing. The project began as an assignment at the Technical University Vienna and continues in association with Otelo Wien. Its page describes a five-student development team with different computer-science specializations. OpenBooth is still in development, with initial tests taking place. The MIT License permits use, copying, modification, distribution, sublicensing and sale of copies subject to its conditions. Documentation is provided through a project Wiki covering the program, hardware and build-and-run tutorials. Questions can be sent through the Wiki or to [email protected]. The project identifies its intended use as a photobooth application and lists Linux as its supported platform.
