NxEmu
What it is
NxEmu is a free, open-source Nintendo Switch emulator for Windows, written in C++. The project is primarily developed by N3xoX1, and its source code is available on GitHub. NxEmu removes decryption logic, so users must provide their own already-decrypted files. Profiles can be created, managed, selected, and assigned images from files or installed firmware avatars. A keyboard applet handles in-game text input, with installed firmware needed for correct display. Configured folders can provide updates, downloadable content, and mods, which users enable or disable per game and select by version. Discord Rich Presence can show the running game. Downloads include stable snapshots and automatically generated development builds, the latter cautioned as less tested and potentially unstable. An early report covering more than 30 games said roughly half worked and played nicely. NxEmu remains Windows-only; Linux and Android support are planned, with groundwork underway.
