What it is
NetBrain is an agentic network operations platform for large, complex, multi-vendor enterprise environments. It uses live network context to help teams diagnose problems, assess conditions, and manage changes across physical, virtual, cloud, and software-defined infrastructure. The platform models device configurations, utilization, software versions, and topology, then maps Layer 2, Layer 3, overlay, and underlay connections and computes paths across datacenter, WAN, and cloud networks. Deep Diagnosis handles root-cause analysis, Assessment performs network checks, Change supports governed runbooks, and Companion addresses everyday needs. NetBrain says agents read before writing and require user approval before execution. Runbook and intent-based automation are included. MCP, REST APIs, and webhooks support integrations, including named connections such as ServiceNow, BigPanda, Dynatrace, Copilot, Gemini, and Claude. Deployment can be hybrid or self-hosted, including air-gapped use with local models. A time-limited trial and curated Test Drive are available; pricing is on request.
For and against
For
- Live network context modeling
- Governed agent execution
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 mapping
- REST API and webhook access
- Supports hundreds of hardware types
Against
- No free plan
- Pricing requires a request
- Not a 24×7 monitoring solution
- Change Management is an add-on
The verdict
NetBrain brings network context, diagnostic agents, mapping, and governed automation into one platform. Its scope and deployment options fit complex environments, while monitoring teams need a separate monitoring product.
Who it suits
NetBrain is aimed at large enterprises, telecommunications companies, and managed service providers running complex hybrid networks. Smaller, static networks may find more cost-effective options.
