Neighbors
What it is
Neighbors is a free service for residents to share neighborhood updates, safety information, and community news. You can use the Neighbors app, the Ring app, or a computer at neighbors.ring.com, and you do not need a Ring device or home security system to participate. Crime and safety alerts go to phones and tablets based on a radius around your address, which you can adjust. Residents can comment on alerts and post information, photos, and videos about local issues. Search Party uses AI with outdoor Ring cameras to check for possible matches during a lost-dog search; camera owners choose whether to share clips. Fire Watch works with Watch Duty to provide nearby wildfire alerts, while outdoor cameras can detect smoke or flames and owners can decide whether to share snapshots. Verified public safety agencies, local governments, and community organizations can post updates, events, and safety information. Agencies can also request voluntary video or information from residents in a specific area. Only content a user chooses to post on Neighbors is visible to other users or local public safety agencies. The apps require iOS 17 or higher or Android 9 or higher.
