What it is
NcFTP is a free set of programs for transferring files with the File Transfer Protocol. The package includes an FTP browser, command-line transfer and listing utilities, and background FTP programs. Its browser offers progress meters, filename completion, command-line editing, bookmarks, cached directory listings, resumable downloads, redialing, background processing, and directory tree downloads. For scripts, ncftpget and ncftpput provide command-line FTP transfers, while ncftpbatch handles queued requests in the background. Scheduled transfers and transfer automation are supported. NcFTP runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows, and supports passive FTP mode plus configuration for a firewall or proxy. The client attempts anonymous access by default; a username can be supplied with the -u option. It supports FTP only and has no built-in encryption or secure modes such as SFTP, SSL, or SSH tunnels.
