Mullvad Browser
Mullvad Browser · Gothenburg, Sweden · founded 2023
What it is
Mullvad Browser is a free, open-source browser designed to reduce tracking and browser fingerprinting. It uses the Gecko engine and runs on supported Linux, macOS, and Windows versions; Windows requires Windows 10 or later with 64-bit support. The browser was developed with the Tor Project but does not use the Tor Network. It works with or without a VPN. Fingerprinting protection is intended to make users appear similar, while uBlock Origin blocks third-party trackers and built-in tools provide ad, malware, and adult-content blocking. Private mode is enabled by default, so cookies, cache, and history are not retained between sessions. A reset button starts a clean session in one click, and Mullvad says browser telemetry has been removed. Cross-device sync is not available. Mullvad says it does not earn money from the browser and instead earns income from its VPN service. The browser is free for anyone, with no free trial, and support questions can be sent to [email protected].
