Muesli
What it is
Muesli is a collaborative Markdown editor for teams and AI agents working in the same plain .md file. Live cursors and presence show collaborators in a document, while comment threads, tracked suggestions, and append-only history with snapshots support review and change tracking. Editing tools include inline preview, source toggle, KaTeX math, Mermaid diagrams, editable tables and callouts, wikilinks, and backlinks. Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot, and Gemini CLI can work through MCP or edit the file directly. When a human is present, agent edits become suggestions for review. Guest links assign viewer, commenter, or editor access without requiring accounts. Storage options include local files, S3-compatible services such as AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, and MinIO, plus GitHub, Gitea, Forgejo, and Google Drive. Muesli is free and open source under AGPL-3.0, with web, Windows, macOS, Linux, and self-hosted options. Self-hosting uses one Docker image, but durable documents and history require Postgres and Redis.
