Move to iOS
Cupertino, California, United States
What it is
Move to iOS helps people transfer content from an Android device to a new iPhone or iPad. It can move contacts, messages, photos and videos, files, settings, bookmarks, mail accounts, WhatsApp messages and media, voice memos, call history, and calendars. Some free apps may transfer when they are available in both Google Play and the App Store and support the transfer feature. Setup pairs the devices with a six-digit or ten-digit code over a temporary Wi-Fi network; a direct USB-C cable is also an option, which Apple says can be faster. The transferred content must fit on the new iOS device. Music, books, and PDFs need to be moved manually. If iOS setup is already complete, the device must be erased and set up again before using the transfer process. Both devices should stay nearby and powered, with Move to iOS onscreen until the transfer finishes. The app is free on Android and iOS.
