MinIO AIStor
Redwood City, California, United States
What it is
MinIO AIStor is an enterprise AI data store that brings persistent memory, tables, objects, and files together. AIStor Memory stores agent context, workspaces, secrets, artifacts, and telemetry. AIStor Tables provides native Apache Iceberg storage for analytics, feature stores, lakehouse designs, and structured AI datasets. Its S3-compatible object storage supports models, checkpoints, training datasets, embeddings, documents, media, and logs. Access and integration options include S3, S3 Express, MCP, SFTP and Files, Iceberg Catalog, and OpenSharing. Management capabilities include an admin console, quality of service, lifecycle management, encryption, key management, a data firewall, and immutability. Replication options include active-active, synchronous, asynchronous, multisite, bucket, batch, and edge modes; monitoring includes audit trails, Prometheus metrics, and error logs. MinIO reports maximum throughput of 23.5 TiB/s in WARP benchmarking and describes scaling from edge deployments to exabyte-scale clusters. The free plan costs nothing for single-node use; Enterprise and Enterprise Lite pricing is available on request.

- S3-compatible object storage supports AI datasets and artifacts.
- Lists multiple replication modes and monitoring tools.
- Free tier includes the full feature set.
Against
- Free tier is intended for single-node deployments.
- Free tier does not provide resilience beyond one node.
- Redistribution of the free tier is prohibited.
- Enterprise Lite is for capacity below 400 TiB.
The verdict
AIStor combines storage types and management features for enterprise AI data workloads, with free single-node and paid enterprise options. The free tier is not intended for multi-node resilience, and Enterprise Lite has a capacity threshold below 400 TiB.
Who it suits
AIStor suits organizations building AI data environments that need persistent memory, object storage, or Iceberg tables. Its free tier is for self-supported single-node use cases that do not need resilience beyond one node.
