medRxiv
What it is
medRxiv is a free online archive for unpublished preprints in medical, clinical, and related health sciences. Authors can register and deposit eligible manuscripts without a charge, while readers access posted articles at no cost. Accepted content includes original research, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, data articles, methodological research, and clinical research design protocols. Manuscripts must be submitted in English, and case reports or case series are not accepted. Articles are available as PDF, full-text HTML, and XML, with supplemental files in their submitted formats. Search covers article text, with advanced filters for title, authors, abstract, full text, article type, and subject area. Preprints show abstract and PDF views plus Altmetric attention, updated daily. APIs and feeds support machine analysis. Authors can submit to integrated journals from the author area; the FAQ lists 144 journals. Screening checks include plagiarism, ethics, trial registration, identifying information, and potentially dangerous content. Preprints are not peer reviewed before posting and should not guide clinical practice.

The verdict
medRxiv offers broad, free access to medical preprints with useful search, formats, metrics, and machine-readable feeds. Readers should treat posted work as preliminary because screening does not provide peer-review certification.
Who it suits
It suits researchers sharing eligible health-science manuscripts and readers seeking freely accessible preprints. It is not a substitute for peer-reviewed clinical guidance.
