What it is
MakesPerfect is a free, browser-based workspace for musicians practicing alone, with a teacher, or in an ensemble. It combines a practice log, music library, tuner, metronome, interactive scores, assignments, and a calendar. Interactive scores can slow down without changing pitch and repeat selected bars. The score player records playing time, pauses when its tab is hidden, and lets users save sessions to their practice log. Teachers can assign exercises by bars, tempo, and repetition counts, then review progress and exchange notes. Ensembles can share a music shelf and rehearsal calendar with RSVP statuses; members must accept invitations. The library accepts PDFs and OpenVoicing bundles up to 50 MB each. PDFs stay as documents, while playable interactive versions require OpenVoicing editing. Uploads begin private and can be shared per piece. Sharing is not encryption, and direct URLs may expose files. The browser tuner keeps audio on the device and uses YIN detection with note lock.
