Lume

What it is

Lume is a free static site generator for Deno that turns project content into static websites. It accepts content and templates in formats including Markdown, YAML, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSX, Vento and Nunjucks, with additional formats available through extensions. Sites can use JSON or YAML files for data, or JavaScript and TypeScript to retrieve data from a database or API. Processors can transform HTML and assets such as CSS and JavaScript, while plugins add tools for areas including image processing, SEO, internationalization and template engines. Lume says its output does not add client-side JavaScript. It uses Deno and HTTPS imports to obtain the dependencies a project needs, so Deno must be installed before setup. Generated sites can be deployed to hosts such as GitHub Pages, GitLab Pages, Codeberg Pages, Deno Deploy, Netlify, Vercel and Cloudflare Pages. Content remains in repository files that can be edited, exported or moved. Lume generates static sites only, so interactive features such as forms, comments and search need separate approaches or integrations.
