LG OnScreen Control
What it is
LG OnScreen Control is a free utility for managing features on certain LG monitors from a Windows PC or Mac. It includes Screen Split for arranging a display into regions, controls for brightness, contrast, and other monitor settings, and tools for software or firmware updates. My application Preset can switch picture mode when a user clicks a chosen application window. Game mode settings cover game-related monitor adjustments, while 5:9 Preview shows an application in a 5:9 area that can be moved to a desired position. A USB connection between the computer and monitor is required for monitor settings and firmware updates. Firmware updates also need internet access and a supported USB cable. The utility works only with selected monitor models, so LG advises checking the owner’s manual. It does not support the PC’s Duplicate display setting; LG recommends Extend mode if its menu does not appear. Non-genuine cables or adapters can prevent DDC/CI communication, and some features may be limited with third-party monitors. LG lists U.S. support through chat, video tutorials, phone, and email.
