What it is
Lands Design is landscape design software for creating gardens, green spaces and landscapes in Rhino or AutoCAD. It develops a live 3D model as users draw 2D elements such as contour lines, plants, paths and walls. Terrain can be created from contours, meshes and point clouds, or imported from satellite maps, DEM or GIS files. A filterable database lists more than 8,000 plant species with botanical descriptions and 2D and 3D representations. Plants can be placed individually, in rows or in mass groups, with controls for species mix, density and distribution. Parametric walls, fences, ramps and stairs, plus urban furniture, support hardscape work. Project lists for plants, furniture, terrain, walls, paths, fences, irrigation and zoning update as a design changes and can be exported to Excel. The Rhino version integrates with Grasshopper and is compatible with V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion and Twinmotion. Lands Design is a Windows plugin requiring a corresponding Rhino or AutoCAD license. A 60-day trial is listed as free; educational and commercial perpetual licenses are €95, paid once and €795, paid once, respectively.
