Karaoke Mugen is a playlist manager for karaoke sessions, from private get-togethers to public events with an operator managing requests. Operators can import, export, reorder, shuffle, add, and remove songs, while guests suggest tracks from their own devices. Operators can enable voting for the next song, set song or singing-time quotas, and use blacklists and whitelists to filter selections. Sessions can include automixes and quiz mode. Once installed, configured, and up to date, the app can run without an internet connection; guests must share the same Wi-Fi network. The player supports playback controls, automatic volume adjustment, pitch and speed changes, and a synchronized second video player. It accepts video formats supported by mpv, uses ASS subtitles, and imports formats including Ultrastar, Karafun, and KBP. Users can link AniList, Kitsu, or MyAnimeList accounts to get songs from watched anime, and show the current song on Discord.
