Ionicons
What it is
Ionicons is a free icon set for web, iOS, Android, and desktop apps. Its open-source collection contains 1,300 icons and is released under the MIT License. Icons are available as SVGs or through a Web Component, and the product page states that commercial use is allowed.
App icons come in filled, outline, and sharp styles; logo icons do not have outline or sharp versions. In Ionic Framework, developers can set distinct icons for iOS and Material Design. The Web Component loads SVGs for requested icons and fetches only those currently visible. Developers can adjust icon size and color with attributes or CSS, and change outline stroke width with a CSS custom property. A custom SVG can be loaded from a URL, provided it contains no scripts or events. The usage guide lists support for Chrome 79+, Safari 14+, Edge 79+, and Firefox 70+, but not Internet Explorer 11. For accessibility, it recommends hiding decorative icons from assistive technology and labeling interactive icons with aria-label text.
