Image to Minecraft Map
What it is
Image to Minecraft Map is a free web app that converts image files into Minecraft NBT map .dat files for display in Minecraft. Multiple images can be dragged in and processed together. A source image can be divided across a grid of up to 10 by 10 maps, with downloads available as individual .dat files or one .zip archive. Preprocessing includes Fit, Fill (Crop) and Stretch resizing, background color and a transparency threshold. Color matching options are CompuPhase, Euclidean, DeltaE 1976, DeltaE 2000 and CMC 1984, and Floyd-Steinberg dithering is supported. The settings page lists Java Edition palettes from versions 1.8.1 through 1.17 or newer and recommends matching the target version; mismatches are not guaranteed to work. Resize quality works in Chrome and Edge but has no effect in Firefox or Safari. The setup guide explains replacing a map .dat file in a world’s data directory. Bedrock support is listed as a future improvement. The project uses the MIT License and is not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft.
