What it is
Hubitat Elevation is a home automation hub that runs automations and stores device data locally rather than in the cloud. Lights, locks, thermostats and security rules can continue working during internet disruptions. The C-8 Pro North America Version costs $184.95 as a one-time purchase, and ongoing use does not require a subscription. It supports Matter, Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and LAN connections, along with Ring integrations, camera integration and energy monitoring. The hub works with more than 1,000 devices across more than 100 brands. A free iOS and Android app provides remote device access, and voice integrations include Apple HomeKit, Google Home and Amazon Alexa. Dashboards can be customized by room and user; the Groovy development environment supports creating custom apps or drivers. Remote administration is available as an optional subscription feature. Hubitat is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and was founded in 2016.
