Hookdeck Outpost
What it is
Hookdeck Outpost is outbound webhooks infrastructure for platforms that deliver events to destinations selected by their users. Hookdeck offers a managed service, while an open-source version can be deployed on infrastructure a team manages. Outpost is licensed under Apache-2.0, written in Go, and distributed as a binary and Docker container. It supports event topics, topic-based subscriptions, content-based destination filters, multiple isolated tenants, and delivery to multiple destinations.
Supported destinations include webhooks, AWS SQS, EventBridge, Kinesis and S3, Google Pub/Sub, Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Cloudflare Queues, and Hookdeck Event Gateway. Delivery is at least once, so consumers should deduplicate events using the event ID. Failed deliveries retry automatically with exponential backoff by default; schedules can be customized, and attempts can be retried through the Retry API, tenant portal, or Admin UI. Security and monitoring features include webhook signatures, secret rotation, failing-destination alerts, optional automatic disabling, and OpenTelemetry metrics. Self-hosting is always free with community support. Managed plans include Starter at $10 a month and Growth at $499 a month; Enterprise pricing is by inquiry.
