Globalping
The legal registered office is Suite 2a1, Northside House, Mount Pleasant, Barnet, England, EN4 9EB.
What it is
Globalping runs network tests from probes distributed around the world to monitor, debug, and benchmark internet infrastructure. Available checks include ping, traceroute, DNS, MTR, and HTTP. Locations can be selected by country, continent, city, US state, region, ASN, ISP, tag, or cloud region, and one measurement can request up to 500 probes. The free plan allows unregistered users 50 probes per measurement and 250 tests per hour; registered users receive 500 probes per measurement and 500 tests per hour. Each additional test costs one credit. Globalping provides a REST API, command-line tools for Linux, Mac, and Windows, and integrations including Slack, Discord, Zapier, n8n, Helm, Visual Studio Code, and GitHub Bot. Its maker describes every component as open source and supports commercial use within its terms.
For and against
For
- Global probe-based measurements
- DNS, HTTP, MTR, ping, and traceroute tests
- Flexible location selection
- REST API and command-line tools
- Open-source components
Against
- Free usage has hourly limits
- Unregistered measurements allow fewer probes
- Additional tests consume credits
- No free trial is listed
The verdict
Globalping provides broad network diagnostics with generous free access for registered users and many automation paths. Teams with higher testing volumes should account for credit use and the stated limits.
Who it suits
It suits solo developers through enterprise teams that need distributed diagnostics, scripted checks, or integrations around network testing.
