Gantry
What it is
Gantry is an open-source internal developer platform for engineering teams that need a service catalog and self-service workflows. Its catalog connects services, APIs, teams, infrastructure components, and environments with ownership and dependency relationships. Teams can define executable runbooks and workflows using schema-driven forms for tasks such as deployments and environment provisioning. Catalog entries can be written in YAML and applied with `gantry apply`, supporting version control, review, diffs, and rollback. Full-text search uses SQLite FTS5 and does not require Elasticsearch. Official integrations include Kubernetes, GitHub, and ArgoCD; PagerDuty, Datadog, Grafana, and Flux are planned. Gantry ships as a single Go binary with embedded SQLite and no external runtime dependencies. It can be installed from a binary, run with Docker or Docker Compose, or built from source. The software is self-hosted and available for Linux, macOS, Windows, and web. It is free under the Apache 2.0 license. The documentation describes JWT authentication and instructs installers to set an admin password. Gantry is in active development, and APIs and schemas may change between releases.
For and against

- Runbooks support deployments and environment provisioning.
- YAML configuration supports review, diffs, and rollback.
- Official integrations include Kubernetes, GitHub, and ArgoCD.
- Free and licensed under Apache 2.0.
Against
- APIs and schemas may change between releases.
- Several integrations are planned rather than official.
The verdict
Gantry combines a service catalog, self-service workflows, and GitOps configuration in a self-hosted platform. Its active development status and possible API or schema changes are worth considering before adoption.
Who it suits
Gantry suits engineering teams seeking an internal developer platform without dedicated platform engineering staff. It may fit teams that want to manage service ownership and dependencies alongside self-service deployment or provisioning workflows.
