GameChat
Redmond, Washington, USA
What it is
GameChat is a Nintendo Switch 2 feature for voice chat, game-screen sharing and video chat while playing with friends. Voice sessions support up to 12 participants. Up to four people can share screens or join video chat at the same time, including while playing different games. The console microphone filters unwanted sounds such as game audio and adjusts volume to surroundings. Video chat requires a compatible USB-C camera sold separately, and backgrounds can include the game being played. The C Button on the right Joy-Con 2 starts chats, answers invitations or mutes a player. Sessions are limited to approved friends, and setup requires text-message verification through the Nintendo Account phone number. Online use requires internet, a Nintendo Account and Nintendo Switch Online membership, with country availability varying. Players under 16 need parental approval. Supported GameShare titles can be shared with chat friends.
