What it is
ForensiT Transwiz is a free Windows utility for moving personal data and settings between computers. It packages profile data and settings in a standard ZIP archive for transfer and restoration. The product page lists transfers from Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10, and to Windows XP, 7 and 10. Transwiz can convert Windows 7 profiles to Windows 10, assign a profile to a user account on any domain, and join a domain when required. It also lists options for backing up additional folder locations and excluding unwanted folders or file types, along with multi-language support. Transwiz does not support Azure accounts. ForensiT continues to offer the Freeware edition and says its Professional Edition is no longer available for purchase. Free users can post questions to the support forum, which ForensiT says its support team monitors. Freeware downloads are listed for Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows 7 and Windows XP.
