Faro
What it is
Faro is a free, MIT-licensed desktop client for moving files, opening remote shells and working with storage across servers and cloud services. It supports SFTP, FTP, FTPS, SSH, S3-compatible storage, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage, WebDAV and HTTP(S), plus Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive and Box through browser-based OAuth. Dual-pane browsing, drag-and-drop transfers, directory comparison, continuous folder synchronization and remote-file editing are included. Disk-usage exploration and fleet search can find files by name or content. The faro-cli command-line tool reuses saved GUI profiles for operations, synchronization, differences, searches and command execution. Agent Bridge can expose an authenticated session to Claude Code or other MCP agents through localhost, with opt-in, command approvals and audit logging. HTTP(S) locations are read-only. Downloads are listed for Linux, macOS and Windows. Builds are unsigned, and macOS builds are not notarized.
