What it is
ExactScan is a document-scanning application for paperless office workflows. It scans, files, sorts, and archives documents, while helping users locate them later. The software supports more than 500 scanner drivers, plus TWAIN and ImageCapture drivers. Processing can detect paper size, correct skew, optimize black-and-white output, and identify blank pages. Users can build scan profiles, save to PDF or other formats, and create searchable PDFs during scanning. ExactScan can pass images to third-party applications that lack TWAIN or ImageCapture support, and AppleScript can manage profiles, options, destinations, and processing status. Pro adds OCR for 26 languages and batch functions including page rotation, PDF appending, barcode recognition, text imprinting, and processing existing files. Enterprise supports scanners rated at 100 pages per minute or higher, PDF/A-1b, and additional barcode types. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux. One-time licenses cost €80, €100, or €250 by edition, with a 14-day trial.
