Engoo
Tokyo, Japan
What it is
Engoo is a one-to-one English-learning platform built around 25-minute video lessons. Learners can choose from more than 6,030 tutors in 113 countries and use more than 15,000 resources covering conversation, business, young learners, travel, grammar, exams, and other listed topics. AI role-play practice provides more than 100 scenarios and can be started for free. Lessons work on Android, iOS, and the web, with no downloads needed for mobile or PC study. Bookings can be made up to 15 minutes before a lesson starts when availability allows. Most plans permit one active booking, while the two-lessons-per-day plan is an exception. Unused monthly tickets do not roll over, and extra or transferred tickets expire after 30 days. Monthly eight-lesson options include Standard at $53.60 a month initially and $67 from the second month. Long-term plans are prepaid and generally non-refundable, while a first monthly payment may be refunded within seven days if no lessons were taken.
