What it is
DrumComputer is a synthetic drum instrument combining sound generation, modulation, sequencing, randomizers, and sample import. Its eight sound engines layer a resonator with a wavetable or analogue oscillator and a resynth or sampler. A 16-step sequencer provides probability, rolls, step delay, swing, humanize, pattern generation, and remixing or fills. Effects include a filter, compressor, overdrive, and room and hall send reverbs. The desktop version supports MIDI file drag and drop and multiple audio and MIDI outputs. It is available as a plugin for macOS and Windows, plus an iPad version requiring iPadOS 17.6 or later. The iPad version supports standalone and AUv3 operation, MIDI export, Ableton Link, MIDI Learn, host automation, and preset iCloud sync. The full download costs $129 once. A demo is available, though it times out after 30 minutes / 30 days and disables saving and export. A Claude Desktop extension can generate sounds from text prompts, but requires the full version.
