Decap CMS · Ljubljana, Slovenia
What it is
Decap CMS is an open-source content management system for Git workflows and static sites, with a web editor for structured fields, rich text, and live preview. Editorial statuses let contributors move content through draft, review, and publish. Content remains in the user's repository, where version history, branch workflows, and deployment checks support publishing. Backends include GitHub, GitLab, Gitea, Bitbucket, Azure, Git Gateway, proxy, and test backends. The system includes a media library and can connect to Cloudinary, Uploadcare, or custom integrations. Users can define collections, nested structures, relation fields, and slug behavior; developers can extend the editor with widgets, editor components, and plugins. It is designed for Git-backed static and Jamstack workflows, including Hugo, Next.js, Gatsby, and Jekyll. Decap CMS is MIT-licensed, free, and self-hosted, so users bring their own authentication and backend. The Free plan lists one site and one seat. Decap Turbo Pro is €19 a month, then 10 EUR per site and 6 EUR per seat monthly for additional capacity. Deploy notifications currently support GitHub-hosted sites; GitLab support is on the roadmap.
