Craig
What it is
Craig is a Discord voice-channel recording bot that saves each speaker to a separate audio track. Recordings can be downloaded as FLAC or MPEG-4 AAC, or opened as an Audacity project or Adobe Audition session. Participants can also record through a browser webapp, which captures audio outside Discord and adds it to the same recording. Craig records voice only, not livestream sound or video.
The free plan allows up to six hours per recording, with recordings expiring after seven days. Paid plans start at $1 a month and extend storage and recording options. Supporters can set up automatic uploads to Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, or Box. Tier 3 includes transcripts in WebVTT, SRT, or plain text; WebVTT transcripts include per-word timestamps. Craig adds [RECORDING] to its nickname as a consent signal and will not record if it cannot change the nickname. Anyone with a recording URL can download it, so the person who starts a recording is responsible for protecting the link.
