Corionis Service Manager.NET
What it is
Corionis Service Manager.NET, or CSM, is a free Windows tray application for monitoring and managing services that a user selects. It can start or stop those services and change their startup type. When a selected service changes state, CSM displays and logs a notification, with file logging available as an option. Users can reorder monitored services by dragging them and edit the names displayed in the application. An optional updater can check daily, weekly, or monthly. CSM installs for the current user, and each user on a system may install a separate copy. Monitoring works without administrator privileges, but management controls require them and are disabled without them. The maker says the application was tested on Windows 7 through Windows Server 2016 in 32- and 64-bit configurations and requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2. This version is a complete rewrite of the original, written in Microsoft C# and .NET. The release is MIT licensed and provided without warranty or guarantee. CSM has no restart control because it cannot reliably determine when a service is safe to start again after shutdown.
