Content Credits SDK
What it is
Content Credits SDK lets publishers charge for individual premium articles while giving occasional readers a way to pay only when they want access. Readers can use one account and wallet across participating publishers without a monthly subscription. The SDK can keep premium content hidden until a reader pays its credit price, then reveal it without a page reload. Readers buy credits through a payment flow accepting credit cards and digital wallets; PayPal processes payments, and Content Credits says it does not store payment information. Publishers set article prices and access rules and retain control of their content and audience while using the service alongside existing subscriptions or paywalls. Integration options include a WordPress plugin, JavaScript SDK, npm package and custom paywalls. The publisher page names WordPress, custom CMSs, Next.js, React and Vue as supported environments. Publisher tools include analytics on reader behavior and article performance. Joining is free, but Content Credits takes a percentage of micropayments; payouts are monthly with a detailed report. Credits have no cash value, are non-refundable and non-transferable, and may expire after 12 months of inactivity.
