codePost
What it is
codePost is a free feedback and grading platform for code, PDFs, and Jupyter Notebooks. It provides split-panel review, inline highlighting, comment cards that can deduct points, and shared rubrics. Instructors can add Markdown comments, hide template code, annotate notebooks and text files, and apply rubric items. Its autograder runs unit tests or custom scripts in Docker-isolated containers. Instructors can expose selected tests, limit test runs, and require specific filenames. Built-in language support includes Python, Java, C/C++, Node.js, R, and more. Integrations include Canvas, Blackboard, GitHub, Jupyter Notebooks, Brightspace, CodePen, Repl.it, Pearson Revel, JSFiddle, and other systems. An SDK and REST API provide programmatic access. Large courses can use roster management, LMS synchronization, TA permissions, and shared rubrics. The platform supports web, API, and self-hosted use. Its former codepost.io service was donated to Rutgers University, and its web version was scheduled to shut down permanently on January 1, 2026.
