What it is
CodeGrade is an online coding education environment combining an autograder, browser editor, interactive terminal, and AI assistant. The autograder supports more than 175 programming languages and provides instant feedback. Students can work in a real Ubuntu environment without installing software. Instructors can comment on code lines, reuse feedback snippets, support peer review, configure the assistant for each assignment, and view student conversation logs. Through LTI, CodeGrade connects with Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Brightspace, Sakai, and Open edX, with grade and roster synchronization. Students can connect GitHub or GitLab repositories and submit code through Git pushes. Exam controls include session lockdown, IP restrictions, passwords, and integrations with proctoring tools. The Free plan is capped at 50 students per course; LMS integration and customizable autograding are upgrade features.
