Cloudpods
What it is
Cloudpods is open-source software for managing enterprise IaaS and mixed cloud infrastructure through a single platform. Its KVM-based private cloud manages virtual machines, storage, networks, GPU cards, and bare metal. Cloud accounts bring public and private resources into a unified view, with documented connections to Alibaba Cloud, Azure, Tencent Cloud, AWS, Huawei Cloud, UCloud, Google Cloud, VMware, ZStack, DStack, and OpenStack. Teams can manage self-built Kubernetes clusters and existing clusters, including synced clusters from AWS EKS, Alibaba Cloud ACK, Azure AKS, and Tencent Cloud AKS. AI Cloud manages LLM inference and AI container applications, with GPU scheduling, model libraries, templates, and images. Listed applications and inference services include Ollama, Dify, OpenClaw, HermesAgent, and ComfyUI. Cloudpods includes multi-tenant IAM, multi-cloud SSO, the climc command-line tool, REST APIs, and documented security controls. It runs on Linux, through the web, via API, or self-hosted. Open-source features are free; paid annual plans are CN¥999 a year for cloud management and CN¥1,999 a year for private cloud.
For and against
For
- Free open-source features are available.
- Manages public and private cloud resources together.
- Supports self-built and existing Kubernetes clusters.
- Includes multi-tenant IAM, SSO, and REST APIs.
Against
- Ollama inference requires a GPU.
- ComfyUI requires a GPU.
- Advanced Enterprise pricing depends on requirements.
The verdict
Cloudpods brings infrastructure, cloud accounts, Kubernetes, and AI workload management into one platform. Its free open-source edition may be a fit for teams comfortable with self-hosted deployment; enterprise plans carry annual charges or tailored pricing.
Who it suits
Cloudpods suits organizations managing private infrastructure alongside public cloud accounts or Kubernetes clusters. It may also suit teams running AI workloads that need GPU scheduling and model or application options.
