CloudMounter
Reston, Virginia, USA
What it is
CloudMounter connects cloud storage accounts and web services as local drives, so files can be browsed and managed through Finder on macOS or Explorer on Windows. It can transfer files between cloud services by drag and drop without first downloading them to the computer, and lets users work with remote files without using local storage space. Listed connections include Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Amazon S3, WebDAV, SFTP, FTP, Box, Backblaze, MEGA, OpenStack Swift, and pCloud. The maker describes client-side AES-256 encryption before files are sent to cloud storage. On macOS, the FAQ says login details are kept in Keychain rather than on CloudMounter’s servers. Offline work is listed as supported on macOS and coming soon for Windows. After the 14-day PRO trial, Windows Free provides full access to one Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive account; extra accounts and services are read-only. Mac’s 7-day free trial applies to yearly subscriptions. Mac and Windows licenses are separate. Mac Personal costs $29 a year, and Windows Personal is a $29.99 one-time purchase. The maker is Electronic Team, Inc., based in Reston, Virginia.
