Canon Digital Photo Professional
What it is
Canon Digital Photo Professional (DPP) is free software for viewing, processing, editing, and printing RAW images from compatible Canon EOS digital cameras and PowerShot models. It runs on Windows and macOS and handles Canon .CR3 RAW, HEIF, and JPEG files. Editing controls include rotation, white balance, dynamic range, colour, and tone curve adjustments, alongside Diffraction Correction and Digital Lens Optimizer for lens corrections. Recipes provide editing shortcuts, while star ratings, bulk renaming, and bulk resizing support photo selection and organization. Batch automation is preset-based. DPP also lists neural network processing for lens optimization, noise reduction, and demosaicing, plus compositing tools for reducing noise and sharpening details. Colour management includes sRGB, Adobe RGB, Wide Gamut RGB, and ICC profiles; edited images can be output as JPEG, TIFF, or HEIF. Canon also lists EOS Utility for remote camera control and file transfer, and Picture Style Editor for creating picture style files usable in DPP.
