Cambridge Aspire
What it is
Cambridge Aspire combines Cambridge academic expertise with digital learning materials for instructors and students. Its Institutional eTextbook Collection provides access to more than 1,000 Cambridge eTextbooks through an institutional subscription, while individuals can buy title-specific access described as perpetual. Cambridge Spiral offers web, desktop and mobile applications for downloading textbooks and reading offline. Readers can add bookmarks, highlights, annotations and links, then manage them in an Annotations tab. Instructor annotations are available through custom group mode. A text-to-speech tool turns eCollection titles into audio, and the eReader allows copying and printing up to 20% of an eTextbook. Library access may use IP verification, Shibboleth or Athens. Individual browser reading in read-only mode excludes annotations, bookmarks and offline reading. LTI 1.1 integration links textbooks or chapters from Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, DSL and Sakai courses. A three-month Instructor eTextbook Collection trial is listed as free.
