Bookalope
LinkedIn lists Bookalope headquarters in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
What it is
Bookalope provides AI-assisted tools for structuring, formatting, and cleaning book documents. Depending on the plan, it imports Word and similar files, EPUB 2 or 3, InDesign, XML, and HTML, then produces accessible EPUB3, print-ready PDF, structured InDesign, or XML and HTML outputs. Generated files are automatically checked against industry standards. New accounts can use all tools free for testing, although converted and exported test books carry watermarks. A free open-source Adobe InDesign extension is distributed through Adobe Exchange, and a free open-source cloud API supports XML or customized production workflows. Bookalope says Benetech approved its tools in 2024 as born-accessible publishing tools. The service states alignment with ISO 27001, SOC 2 recommendations, and GDPR compliance. Plans are paid, with Basic billed per conversion, Pro per 10 conversions, and Enterprise using yearly custom pricing. PDF files cannot be imported.
