BibDesk
What it is
BibDesk is a free macOS application for editing and managing bibliographies, bibliographic information, and associated files or web links. It can automatically move and rename publication files. Search tools provide instant filtering, full-text searches of associated PDFs, and smart groups based on keywords. BibDesk imports text, BibTeX, and RIS files, and can retrieve records from web pages and library or publication catalogues. Additional import sources include Medline/PubMed, MARC, JSTOR, Web of Science, Dublin Core, Refer, MODS, and SciFinder. It exports RIS, BibTeX, and EndNote formats, creates PDFs, and copies rich text to the clipboard. The project describes citation autocompletion with most LaTeX editors and PubMed access through Z39.50 and Entrez. Bibliographies can be shared with colleagues or exported to HTML and RSS. The current version requires OS X 10.13 or later. Recent updates added Typst citation support and TeX-log display in the embedded preview.
