Axel
What it is
Axel is a webhook service that captures incoming third-party events, stores accepted payloads, and delivers them asynchronously to databases, warehouses, object storage, or HTTP services. Routes use declarative filters and field transformations, and a single event can fan out to multiple destinations. Listed destinations include Postgres, MongoDB, S3, Cloudflare R2, Databricks, BigQuery, and signed HTTP webhooks; generic webhook and custom HMAC sources are supported. The dashboard and CLI can replay retained events, while Axel Cloud provides 30 days of searchable event and delivery history. Data Contracts infer event and field types and check for schema changes every five minutes without blocking delivery. Delivery is at least once, with a stable event ID across retries, so signed HTTP receivers should deduplicate. Axel is offered through an API, web service, or self-hosted deployment; the public self-hosting source release is being prepared. The Free plan costs nothing and includes 10,000 accepted inbound events monthly, 30-day search, listed destinations, and community support. Pro is $20 a month with usage billing.
