Arility
What it is
Arility is a free Android and iOS augmented-reality app for safety education in classrooms, homes, and experiential learning centres. Developed by Constable Care Child Safety Foundation and DS Business Services and released in July 2018, it presents lessons with 360-degree visuals, sound effects, AR characters, and scenarios where children choose what happens. Teachers can supervise in real time, manage whole classes or smaller groups, and run several classes simultaneously. Students may work alone, in pairs, in groups, or together. Pre, post, and extension questions assess knowledge, while reports connect outcomes with Australian and UK curriculum outcomes and are emailed after sessions. Packs address health, floods, driving, road safety, Constable Care safety school, driveway safety, and small wheeled devices. The app works offline after download, but internet access is needed to share pictures and reports. Lessons require a printed marker. Compatible devices include Apple iPads, iPad minis, and Android tablets; mobiles do not currently work. Collected data is retained indefinitely, except photo data kept until emailing.
